Maze of the Week #75 - Peter B Lewis Building Maze

Maze of the Week #75 takes us to the city of Cleveland, Ohio and the campus of Case Western Reserve University for a maze of the Peter B Lewis Building. The building houses the Weatherhead School of Management, opened in 2002 and was designed by the famous architect Frank Gehry. You can learn more about the building on the university website and also the historical page of the city.

YouTube video of the building:

The Maze: I went back and forth of the use or non-use of shadows with this maze many times. I found that in order to show the true unique shape of the building I needed to do the shadowing as best I could, otherwise the structure looked flat to me. I hope you like it ! Also I did the maze with a paper ratio that is longer than normal.

Maze of the Week #74 - Templo de Sangre de Cristo Maze

Maze of the Week #74 concludes our run of religious building mazes with the Templo de Sangre de Cristo (Temple of the Precious Blood of Christ), a church located in the centro of Oaxaca de Juarez, Oaxaca. It was consecrated in 1689 and is not as famous a church compared to it’s very impressive neighbor down the street, the Church of Santo Domingo de Guzmán or the Catedral Metropolitana de Oaxaca (which opened in 1573).

Very short, YouTube short link.

I went back a few times to get some additional photos of details of the church to help in my making of the maze. Hopefully this additional detail helps make the maze more interesting. Here is a collage of some of those photos:

The Maze: There is not a lot of color in this building, but I went with a mostly black and white version with a few detailed items in color. It is medium difficulty.

Maze of the Week #73 - Hallgrímskirkja Church Maze

Maze of the Week #73 continues our run of religious building mazes with the Hallgrímskirkja Church, a Lutheran church located in Reykjavík, Iceland. It is the tallest church in Iceland and was completed in 1986. You can read about the church on Wikipedia or plan a visit on the church website. Or just watch this video to see everything:

The Maze: Because of the unique shape of the building I was compelled to add shadows to the maze. Any picture with light seems to have some sort of shadow present so I went for it.

Maze of the Week #72 - KAFD Grand Mosque Maze

Maze of the Week #72 is of the KAFD Grand Mosque located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Completed in 2017 this mosque has a unique look and I was so happy to make a maze of it. You can learn about the mosque on the Wikipedia page. The form of the mosque was inspired by the shape of a desert rose.

Photos: Check out the website of the architects Omrania and Associates to get a great overview.

The Maze: Just like the last maze, I started with black and white…and then decided to go full color. However, I made them with 2 different solutions so we have 2 options here:

KAFD Grand Mosque Maze in black and white

KAFD Grand Mosque Maze - black and white

And here is the full color alternate version:
