Maze of the Week #95 - Gibraltar Point Lighthouse

Maze of the Week #95 is of the Gibraltar Point Lighthouse in Toronto, Canada. Constructed in 1808, this is the oldest lighthouse on the Great Lakes. As we get closer to Halloween I must ask - Is the lighthouse haunted ? Yes. Would you believe maybe ? Then would you believe it could have been but no longer is ? The very first lighthouse keeper, John Paul Radelmüller, is believed to have been violently murdered and is Toronto oldest cold case. You can read about this mystery on this website about Toronto. Or, just watch the video below !

The Maze: I went with color but left out the surrounding trees. I added shadows and like how they came out.

Maze of the Week #37 - New London Ledge Lighthouse Maze

For maze of the week #37 I bring you a lighthouse maze. It was originally maze #22, but I switched it last minute because of a holiday. Although it looks more like a house than a lighthouse, I assure you that if you go to New London Harbor, Connecticut, in Groton you will find the New London Ledge Lighthouse. As far as the maze, it is a standard construction. Initially this was only done in black and white but I later added a color version so I would like your feedback on which version you prefer !

Some information about New London Ledge Lighthouse

Is it haunted? Maybe, and by a guy named Ernie. Built in 1909, this lighthouse features a 58 foot tall tower. Was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 29th, 1990. If you are in the area you are able to visit the lighthouse ! Or if you want a quick tour, checkout the video below !

The mazes:

The original version. Black and white. I did reformat it so there was less white space on the page. It presents better on the site.

And I got motivated to create a full color version. I like how it came out. Yes I did include the rust stains !! Here is the result ! Which do you prefer ? This is currently formatted for a standard 8.5 x 11 full page. But ideally I would format it smaller.

A landscape maze of a famous location.

Maze of the Week #31 - Ponce De Leon Lighthouse Maze

Our Maze of the week #31 features the Ponce de Leon Lighthouse and Museum located in Ponce Inlet, Florida. Apparently this is one of the tallest lighthouses in the US, so now you know. What really attracted me to this particular lighthouse was the vibrant color. When you see a landscape photo or video of the lighthouse you’ll notice it can be seen from far away and in looks great against the lush green hues on the ground.

Here is a great place to learn about the Lighthouse. Maybe you are wondering why I am featuring the maze this week ? Well, It was designated as a NHLD (National Historic Landmark District) on August 5, 1998.

I love drone footage…

The Maze: the beautiful color was difficult to get just right, but this is where I landed. Depending on the photo you look at and the lighting this is probably right a few times a day just like a broken clock ! Is it orange ? Is it pink ?
