Maze of the Week #82 - Mexican Door Maze

Maze of the Week #82 is a bit different than my typical maze because it deals with a scene, specifically a scene of a door in Mexico. You may or may not know that I have spent a few Winters in Mexico to get out of the cold. It’s wonderful. This particular door was made as a conglomeration of many different doors I have seen around the country. My reference pictures came from Querétaro and Oaxaca where I have spent the most time. The main picture used was from a house in Oaxaca. This is my 5th maze from Mexico and my 2nd “scene” in the country:

Part 1 - Chichen Itza

Part 2 - Museo Soumaya

Part 3 - QRO walking street

Part 4 - Templo de Sangre de Cristo

Photos: The main door used for the structure of the maze (Oaxaca). A little bit of brick, concrete, stones…typical for Mexico.

Flowers typically found on the sidewalks crawling up the building (Queretaro).

My old neighbor. One version of the electrical you find in Mexico (QRO).

The Maze: I changed the colors many times and am still not satisfied…anyway here it is (for now). Start and Goal are in yellow (INICIO and META in Spanish)

Maze of the Week #81 - Munson-Williams-Proctor Museum of Art Maze

Maze of the Week #81 takes us to Utica, New York with a maze of the Munson-Williams-Proctor Museum of Art. The building opened in 1960 and was designed by architect Philip Johnson.

You can learn about the Art Institute that includes the museum here.

YouTube: A short video showing the outside and inside of the museum !

The Maze: Despite not being a colorful building, the maze came out more interesting because of the surrounding area. My favorite part of the maze ? The stairs leading to the building have transparent looking panels which I included !!

Maze of the Week #80 - Guangdong Museum Maze

Maze of the Week #80 is my first maze of a building in China, the Guangdong Museum (广东省博物馆) located in Guangdong, China. What drew me to this building is the coloration of the great architecture, with red accent coloring where the window is inset against the dark grey building facing. You can learn about the museum here or plan your visit with this travel site or on the official museum site.

Photo: I like this nightime photo of the museum from user deson.wu from flickr.

The Maze: Full color so I could feature the red accents (and burgundy in the shadows). Maze start and goals are in the corners.
